Water Babies

We all remember drinking from the hose when we were little, right?

Apparently Finn is a huge fan of hose water too.

On Saturday we had we had some friends over to play with the kids.  Nate's wife was on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise with her mom and sister.  How lucky is she??  I can't wait to hear all about her trip.  But anyway, we had Nate and the kids over for dinner.  The kids had a blast playing in the pool and spraying each other with the hose.

I was successful in sharing my love of spray cheese with Lynn's kids.  I am sure she will be thrilled that I introduced this luxury to them.

Gigi even tried it on her cookie.

Summer is Here

Corn on the cob is a summer time staple in our house.  I am so lucky that my kids love it too!

I think we could all make a meal out of corn on the cob.

One item on my summer bucket list is to stop at a roadside stand to buy farm fresh corn on the cob.  I am betting that my little piggies will love picking out their own ear of corn!

Splash Park Fun

My mom and I took the kids down to Bass Street landing today for a picnic and sprinkler play!

Olivia was so excited!! She ran around the house all morning screaming "we're going to a splash park, we're going to a splash park".

Finn had no problem getting wet, he even tried drinking from the water spout.  That didn't turn out too well for him.

I don't know what's up with my camera, it's focusing the wrong things when I snap the picture so I apologize for the blurriness today.

Backyard Camping

Daddy and Olivia went camping this weekend!  Well, backyard camping.

We put up the tent, roasted some marshmallows, and enjoyed the lovely weather we've been having.

Finn and I were fair-weather fans and slept in the house.  Olivia and Dad lasted all night outside in the tent.

It wasn't very extravagant, but Olivia had a blast.

Olivia is begging to put the tent back up, I sure hope she wants Dad back in there with her.

4th Of July Celebrations

Happy 4th of July!

We have certainly enjoyed our extended weekend.

We started Friday morning off with a 4th of July parade.  The kids loved it and made a major haul in the candy department.  I think we will still have enough for the trick or treaters by the time Halloween rolls around!

{Checking out her loot}

After the parade and naps we went over to Gramma and Papa's house for a cook out.  The kids had a blast playing in the water table and eating their cheese burgers, potato salad, baked beans and blueberry pie.  There's nothing more American than that!

{Nothing like a little hose water}

We decided to take the kids to their first fireworks show this year.  It started a little late for our taste.  To me, dusk does not mean 9:45 for a start time!  Anywho.....the kids loved it.  They ooohhhhed and aaaahhhhhed at everything.  Liv had fun telling me what color each firework was.  Finn even loved it so much he took his pacifier out to say wow every time he saw something he liked.

{Finn waiting patiently for the fireworks to start...Dad, not so much}

{When did he get so big?}

{Who thought we would have to bring blankets and jackets to a 4th of July fireworks show?}
